THE Lowen School

Gunnislake Cornwall

The Lowen School is a small SEN school set in the heart of the beautiful Tamar Valley.

The school is registered to provide education to up to 12 students from KS1 – KS5 aged 5 to 18yrs as a DfE approved school to offer Key Stage One. All students have autism and/or complex learning needs.

Lowen is the Cornish word for happy or joyful, at the Lowen School we believe all students deserve to attend a school where they are happy. Happiness is purposeful and meaningful, a place where students thrive and are enthused to learn. Happiness is reflected in our students.

Ofsted KS1 Approved!

Feeling and being safe
ENJOYING A GOOD QUALITY OF LIFE AND an ENRICHING CURRICULUM
Growing and achieving

At the Lowen School we believe that for our students to thrive we must recognise and celebrate their individuality, their unique learning strengths and personal aspirations. Many students will have found previous educational settings difficult. At the Lowen school it is our resolute belief that if our students are to thrive in our school we must understand and work with students strengths and when barriers to their learning occur, support them to overcome these.
